Full Description
Definitions
Loyalty Program – A program meant to incentivize customers for repeat purchase. A typical loyalty program allows customers to collect points to a predetermined ratio of the money they spend with the company and later use these points to make free purchases.
Members – Customers who decide to join a loyalty program offered by a company by accepting its terms. A company will generally want to relieve itself of liabilities of cash payment against the points and any ownership claims by the customer.
Points – Points are the currency of the Loyalty Program. They may or may not be equal to the currency of the points generating transaction.
Accumulate / Accumulation – The action of collecting points through qualifying transactions. Accumulation results in increasing the total points balance.
Redeem/Redemption – The action of using points by requesting a gift certificate. Redemption results in reducing the total points balance.
Transaction – A record in NetSuite that results in a sale or generating revenue for the Loyalty Program company. Only revenue transaction should be used for accumulation.
Redemption Form – The form – online, external or internal – used to request the system for a redemption.
Gift Certificate – A coupon code generated by NetSuite as a result of redemption request. The customer can use the gift certificate towards full or partial payment of a future order.
Threshold – The number of points needed by a loyalty program member before they can redeem their points.
Enforced Threshold – The threshold after which a loyalty program member can no longer accumulate points.
